Do you want to know how distribution and exhibition works in Australia? Why do you need a distributor and what do they actually do? Join distributors and exhibitors in a frank discussion on the rise and falls in the distribution landscape of Australia. Moderated by John L. Simpson (Founder, Titan View) with panelists Nick Hayes (National Operations Manager, Dendy) and Megan Simpson Huberman (Director, Development & Production, Screen NSW).

John L. Simpson is an award winning creative producer with over twenty five years’ experience working in the performing arts arena. Early in 2007 John L. launched TITAN VIEW feature film distribution to bring important Australian films to Australian and international audiences. TITAN VIEW’s first film for distribution was The Jammed, which was the highest grossing independent Australian film on screen average ever, during its opening two weeks.
In 2010 Screen Australia selected Titan View to receive one of two Innovation Distribution Grants awarded for 2010 -2012.
 
Nick Hayes 
National Operations Manager, Dendy
Panelist

Nick has spent his entire working life in the exhibition industry. Prior to Dendy Cinemas he was the Operation Manager of the Sydney Film Festival and worked for Hoyts for a decade. Nick is also on the Board of the Independent Cinemas Association of Australia the peak industry group for Independent Cinemas.

Megan Simpson Huberman
Director, Development & Production, Screen NSW
Panelist

Megan is the Director of Development and Production, which is the project development and production finance division of Screen NSW. She heads the team that makes the agency's development and production investment recommendations and works with filmmakers to bring their projects to the screen.

Megan draws on 20 years of industry experience, as a writer and director of features, TV drama, and factual programs, including Dating the Enemy, which was one of the top grossing and rating Australian films of its year. She has worked in development and production for most of the Australian screen agencies, and her development recommendations have been realised as more than $45million dollars worth of production. She was previously the Director of Screen Australia's IndiVision Project Lab.
