***Applications for 2012 Australian Film Festival have now closed.

Please return to the website later in 2012 as we begin our search for volunteers for the 2013 Australian Film Festival. We look forward to meeting you.

Cheers!

become a part of the 2012 AFF volunteer crew!

Why not sign up to Volunteer at Australian Film Festival, work a few shifts and get to enjoy the screenings, workshops and the opening and closing night parties?

Volunteers provide an invaluable service, operating in a wide variety of roles across the Festival. We are still looking for people over 18 years of age with or without experience to fill shifts in:

  • Hospitality and Retail - bar work, food and merchandise and ticket sales.
  • Marketing, Media, Sponsorship and Admin
  • Ushers
  • Promotions and Marketing material distribution
  • General Tasks such as Information Providers, Runners, Wristbanding & Ticket takers

Besides more specialised roles, we are also looking for people who are just willing to get in there and give it a go!

We ask that you fill out the Volunteer Application form here to start the process.
The application form will help us to determine where your skills will be best applied. Our Volunteer Management Team will assess your application and offer you a role (or roles) based on the answers you provide. If you are unhappy with any role you have been offered, let our Management Team know and we will try to find something more suitable for you.

Shifts run between 1 hour and 5 hours each including sign in and out and any pre-shift briefings, although maybe slightly longer or shorter, depending on the role.

Please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Read through the volunteer agreement and make sure you agree to all the terms and conditions before continuing with your application.

Step 2 Apply for your preferred Volunteer role, sit back and allow our Volunteer Managers to call you the second they receive it!

Step 3: Once your application has been approved you will receive an invitation for a suitable volunteer role, and an information pack to get you 100% 'in the know' of how the AFF works and your very important part within it.

Step 4: You, along with our Volunteer Managers, will then discuss and assign your shifts, to occur between 7 and 17 March.

Step 5: It's ON! You'll be in amongst the crowds, celebs, film, food and fun, and helping in a big way, to make the Australian Film Festival a wonderful experience for EVERYBODY!

Step 6: Post Festival, you will receive a Certificate Of Thanks from the 2012 Australian Film Festival.

If you have any questions regarding the 2012 Australian Film Festival Volunteer Program, please send us an email info@australianfilmfestival.com.au

Terms and Conditions of Volunteer Application

If you find that you are unable to volunteer, please let us know by the 24th February 2012. If urgent matters arise afterwards, we understand things can and do happen but the show must go on! We will work with you to sort out a solution that works well for all involved.

If you are unable to volunteer due to illness or circumstances beyond your control, please do not hesitate to advise us as we can perhaps provide a back-up role that you may be able to perform.
